The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for the care and protection of personnel and company equipment at all times. As the workshop supervisor your objective is to enable the smooth operation of the engineering department, ensuring quality work is delivered on budget and on program to the pearl farms. Your accurate job instructions, good leadership and getting personally involved in the work are the best tools for achieving good results.
Key responsibilities:
* Hold AUS Trade qualifications relevant to your duties.
* Maintain your tools whether business provided or your own ensuring you have the appropriate tools to carry out all servicing requirements.
* Supervise all PPCo tradesmen and contractors in the workshop, site projects or PPCo projects.
* Work closely with the Workshop Manager / Pearl Farm Engineering Manager to ensure standards are met, jobs are on budget and to schedule.
* Maintain a safe and clean workplace.
* Assist with daily pre start meetings.
* Assist in providing staff training and maintaining work standards set by PPCo.
* Supervise quality assurance, test procedures and record test results
* Carry out work as programmed by the Workshop Manager and Pearl Farm Engineering Manager.
* Undertake mechanical refits and new build installations and installations of pearling equipment as required.
Essential requirements:
* High Risk Licenses Forklift
* Work at Heights qualification; and
* Confined Space Entry qualification
To be considered for this rewarding position you must be either an Australian citizen or permanent resident with full work rights and be the holder of an unrestricted driver’s license – current at all times.
