Bidgerdii Community Health Service is a not-for-profit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisation that has been serving the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for over 30 years. Established in 1995, we provide culturally safe, comprehensive primary healthcare and wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
With services ranging from general practice and allied health to social and emotional wellbeing, chronic disease management, transport services, and family and children’s health, we operate across Rockhampton, Mount Morgan and the Central Highlands. About the Opportunity
Bidgerdii Community Health Service is looking for a full-time HRM Coordinator based in Rockhampton, QLD.
This role reports to the Corporate Services Manager and will lead the delivery of HR and WHS functions across our growing multi-site health service. It’s a hands‑on role requiring a self-starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, purpose-driven environment.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating HRM functions including recruitment, onboarding, policy development, and compliance
- Leading WH&S; activities including training coordination, committee participation, incident investigation, and audit support
- Maintaining and developing internal HR systems (including HRIS, Employment Hero, and LogiQC)
- Providing advice on industrial relations, Fair Work, and workplace investigations
- Driving continuous improvement in HR/WHS processes and systems
- Managing employment contracts and overseeing EAP, return‑to‑work programs
- Leading performance review and development plans across the organisation
- Supervising HR support staff and assisting in accreditation/compliance frameworks
- Supporting quality audits and organisational accreditation programs, including ISO, AGPAL, WHS, and other regulatory frameworks
- Holding delegated authority for HR‑related processes, including contract management, performance planning, and small‑scale financial approvals
About You
To qualify, you will need a tertiary qualification (Certificate IV or Diploma level minimum) in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years experience in a HR or WHS coordination role is essential.

You’ll bring a high level of attention to detail, the ability to build strong internal relationships, and the confidence to make informed decisions.
Practical Requirements:
- Valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence (QLD)
- Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment
- Satisfactory Police Criminal History Check
Ideally, you will bring a sound understanding of workplace health and safety frameworks and the ability to guide compliance and risk mitigation across multiple sites. Experience within a not-for-profit, Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS), or community-based organisation will also be highly regarded.
