The Role
Within Joint Operations Command (JOC) Business Management, the role builds strong working relationships across teams, peers and stakeholders to support the delivery JOC Group outcomes. The position manages broad range of internal business functions, applying relevant frameworks, policy and procedures within the JOC Group. Drawing on strong financial expertise the role promotes a culture of effective and responsible resource management by translating and applying administrative, operational, technical and resource requirements to JOC activities and delivering required reporting, and ensuring governance over internal resourcing processes.
The role will include the following tasks:
* Providing accurate and timely financial, resource, and policy advice.
* Supporting budget planning, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.
* Coordinating and maintaining governance, compliance, and assurance processes.
* Preparing briefs, submissions, correspondence, and reports for senior executives.
* Monitoring expenditure, commitments, and resource utilization.
* Interpreting and applying Commonwealth legislation, policy, and Defence frameworks.
* Supporting stakeholders with clear, pragmatic advice in complex environments.
* Contributing to continuous improvement of business and resource management processes.
* Managing competing priorities while maintaining quality and compliance.
About our Team
JOC Group’s Business Management section operates within the JOC Command Support Branch and plays a key role in supporting governance, financial stewardship, and resource management activities across JOC. JOC Business Management reports to the Director of Governance and is responsible for the development, implementation and continued improvement of budget processes and in-year management of resources.
This team will be critical to the efficient and effective management of finances during the planning and execution of JOC Group activities. The team will work closely with HQ Branches and JOC Commands to ensure planning considerations enable sufficient allocation of resources with the application of appropriate due diligence.
JOC Business Management will collaborate with Defence Finance Group to achieve the effective delivery of mutual requirements and outcomes are achieved.
