Day-to-day
Work closely with our development teams to deliver clear, effective, and high-impact code-based solutions.
Show strong knowledge of the basic concepts of software development.
Support the development team through innovative software development and coding.
Resolve bugs and build new features.
Research ways to solve problems technically.
Monitor technical platforms and internal systems, reporting and escalating risks as necessary.
Learn and apply DevOps practices and processes to strengthen delivery.
Use metrics and alerting to monitor and manage support for our products.
Document solutions and processes to encourage learning and improvement.
Develop a solid working knowledge of cloud-based solutions (GCP/AWS).
Implement support processes that keep our products running smoothly.
Collate and prepare reports that provide the team with valuable data and insights.
Use infrastructure as code to deliver products more efficiently and effectively.
Learn new skills and processes to support our products and development teams.
Actively participate in development estimation discussions to strengthen communication with the product team.
Conduct development tests as required to ensure quality outcomes.
Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions.
To be successful in the role
A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or IT, and/or 2+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of Golang, containerisation, Kubernetes, gRPC, and Kafka is a bonus.
Awareness, knowledge or experience with Agile management tools and methodologies such as Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
Strong analytical, proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
The ability to work both collaboratively and independently across multiple priorities.
An interest in understanding new technologies and trends.
A genuine passion for making a positive impact on the business and team culture.
Flexibility to support international and domestic clients outside regular business hours as required.
Experience in the horse racing and wagering industry is highly valued.
