Role Summary:
* We are seeking a vacation student to assist with geotechnical data collection and basic analysis in support of operational planning within our Integrated Planning team.
* The successful candidate will participate in site inspections and audits to observe and document geotechnical hazards, while maintaining and updating visual risk communication tools.
* This role involves supporting rock sampling and testing programs under supervision, as well as contributing to back-analyzing rockfalls and slope failures using site data.
* In addition, the student will prepare reports and presentations on geotechnical observations and findings, engaging in safety training, toolbox talks, and ground awareness sessions with site teams.
About the Role:
* Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Geology degree is required.
* Prior experience with relevant software and systems through studies or placements is highly desirable.
* A strong problem-solving skillset is essential for this role, as is effective communication across verbal, written, numerical, and graphical formats.
* The ideal candidate will have the ability to uphold high work standards and build strong relationships with peers and leaders.
* A valid manual driver's license and willingness to live and work remotely are also requirements for this position.
