Founded in 1952, Paspaley is a diverse group of companies. Whilst its core business is pearling, including pearl production, wholesale, and retail, it also has extensive involvement in the aviation industry, the rural industry, and commercial properties.
We seek a reliable Training and Recruitment Officer to work as part of our Pearling Team to assist with the employment and training within our pearling operations.
Key responsibilities:
* Maintain our applications data base, including the electronic logging and manual filing of all applications received, this includes farm and fleet applications.
* Liaise with the pearling Management, farm managers and vessel skippers to ensure staff qualifications are kept up to date, this includes booking Marine and other courses, ensuring all training is complete in accordance with Company Policies.
* Monitor and stay informed about regulatory and legislative changes relevant to our industry.
* Working collaboratively with External Stakeholders and subject matter experts to obtain the latest information.
* Assist the Pearling Recruitment team with interviewing prospective new employees, including the organizing of interview lists and conducting drug and alcohol testing and booking Functional Capacity Evaluation medicals.
* Record and report statistical data for pearling recruitment
* Assist / Conduct Pearling Vessel training program.
* Conduct new employee debriefs.
* Book and follow up staff training with external providers.
The successful candidates must:
* Strong computer literacy with all Microsoft suite
* Working towards completing or completed TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
* Hold a current driver’s license.
* Be able to pass a Pre Employment medical
* Be a resident of Darwin or willing to relocate.
* Strong communication and office based skills.
