Your Role
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Marist College, Emerald, in the position of Facilities Officer (Gardens, Grounds and Maintenance). This full‐time continuing position for 38hpw commences as soon as able or as negotiated with the successful applicant. Reporting to the Principal, this role performs daily grounds and maintenance tasks including minor repairs and maintenance of school building and surroundings, gardening, beautification and various other tasks as required.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
* Securing grounds and equipment – keeping the school safe
* Mowing, trimming and fertilising lawns and turf areas
* Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems
* Weeding, planting and fertilising gardens
* Outdoor cleaning and use of high‐pressure water cleaner
* Identify and assist with minor building maintenance – e.g., touch‐up painting and other minor repairs
* Assembling, moving and relocating furniture
* Assisting with the set‐up of spaces for school events
* Gardening and general caretaking of school buildings and gardens
* Working with other grounds staff as required
* Rubbish and waste management
* Working with contractors to oversee major repairs and maintenance
About You
The successful applicant will have relevant experience and an understanding of and a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education. Additionally, you will possess excellent time‐management skills and well‐developed interpersonal skills.

* A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and a valid Suitability Notice are required.
