We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Business Analysts to join the Office of the Fair Work Ombudsman's (FWO) Regulatory Transformation Group.
Positions will be available at Business Analyst (APS6) and Senior Business Analyst (EL1).
Full-time and part-time hours and hybrid work arrangements are available.To be considered for the EL1 role, you must satisfy the additional selection criteria requirements set out in this position description.
You may apply for the APS6 role, the EL1 role, or both roles.

You'll need to be comfortable working in an environment with a high level of scrutiny.Typical DutiesAs the Business Analyst (APS6) or Senior Business Analyst (EL1) your key responsibilities may include:Leading the delivery of cross-functional workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into functional specifications for deliveryConducting gap analyses between current and future states to identify opportunities for improvement through business or ICT changesReengineering and documenting processes, technical and non-technical specifications to implement solutions that align with agency objectives, governance and standardsDeveloping strategies through improved data utilisation, technology adoption, and automationPreparing high quality reports and visualisations such as wireframes, flow diagrams, personas and mock-upsIdentifying trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic decision makingPlan structured stages of the implementation life cycle from ideation to integration, using best practice methodologiesSupporting or leading change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes, systems, or frameworksInterstate and overnight travel may be required in this role.Selection CriteriaTo be successful in the role at both the APS6 and EL1 level, you will possess:Expert stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to gather and document business requirements in a range of digestible formatsDemonstrated experience in business analysis, with a proven ability to research, assess and map, processes and specifications within a complex regulatory, operational or ICT environmentSound knowledge in business process improvement, with the ability to analyse current-state processes, identify inefficiencies, and design and map future state solutionsStrong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets, draw insights, and translate findings into actionable recommendationsOutstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret complex concepts to a broad range of stakeholdersTo be considered at the EL1 level, candidates must also demonstrate:5+ years' experience in business analysis with demonstrated ability to be an independent contributor to a program of workAn ability to lead and manage change, including demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching and training staff.Practitioner project management or continuous improvement methodologies qualifications or certification are highly desirable.
