Job Title: Support Specialist for At-Risk Youth

* The role of the Support Specialist involves delivering comprehensive services to children, young people, and their families or significant others. This includes providing support, mediation, case management, advocacy, and counseling to engage at-risk individuals and help them stay connected to their families, education, training, work, and the community.
* The Support Specialist aims to address early signs of vulnerability and build a supportive environment for positive outcomes. To achieve this goal, they will conduct comprehensive assessments of children/young people and their families to identify needs and develop tailored case plans.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting thorough risk and safety assessments to ensure compliance with professional standards and quality assurance guidelines.
* Collaborating with core services such as schools, community agencies, and government departments to deliver holistic support to children and their families.
* Leading group programs and workshops to enhance social skills, mental health, and self-esteem for children/young people.
* Maintaining accurate records, meeting service targets, and providing regular updates and reports to the Service Manager.
Requirements:
* Degree in Behavioral Science, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (this is an essential requirement of the role).
* Current National Police Check.
* Current Blue Card.
* Current Queensland Driver's License and own reliable vehicle.
* Ability and willingness to travel within the service region.
