About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Excavator Operator to join our team for ongoing local projects in and around Darwin. This is a hands-on role suited to an operator who takes pride in their work, values safety, and thrives in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate excavators across a variety of civil construction projects
* Carry out daily pre-start checks and report faults or maintenance needs
* Read and interpret construction drawings and plans
* Work closely with supervisors and site personnel to ensure smooth project delivery
* Maintain a high standard of safety, environmental care, and workmanship
* Contribute to efficient site operations, planning, and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in civil works (stormwater, trenching, earthworks, etc.)
* Experience working with machine control systems (Topcon highly regarded)
* Ability to read and interpret plans
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Excellent time management and organisational ability
* Reliable, self-motivated, and results-driven
* Strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency
Essential Requirements
* Construction Industry White Card
* Demonstrated experience operating excavators in civil construction
* Ability to follow company policies and procedures
* Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Desirable
* Experience with Topcon GPS machine control systems
