About the role:
We're currently working with a large ASX-listed mining company to engage an experienced mining lawyer on an initial contracting basis.
Commencing as soon as possible, the engagement is expected to run up to 3 months with the potential to extend or transition to a permanent position.
The initial requirement will see you working with procurement to take ownership of clearing a backlog of various commercial agreements, with a view to the role expanding to utilise your generalist in-house experience.
You will provide strategic legal support across the company's operations, including contract negotiation and drafting, mining law and regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including mining services, logistics, EPC, drilling, procurement, confidentiality agreements and MOUs.
* Providing timely, practical legal advice across operational, commercial and executive functions.
* Advising on Western Australian mining legislation, environmental requirements and approvals processes.
Who we are looking for:
We would like to hear from senior lawyers with 10+ years' PAE, ideally gained in leading national or international firms or within pre‐eminent in‐house teams. You will bring strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, together with a sound understanding of mining law and regulatory and compliance matters. Experience within a mining organisation will be highly regarded.
