**Gandel Simulation Service Manager**
**Fixed Term Position**
**24 months - 32 per week**

The Gandel Simulation Service, in partnership with the University of Melbourne, is a comprehensive hospital wide in situ simulation service. The focus is on translational simulation in the real clinical space primarily through interprofessional team based simulation to improve quality and safety across the Women's hospital.
The GSS Manager is accountable to the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer while working in close collaboration with the GSS Clinical Lead and Chief Medical Officer. The GSS Manager is responsible for coordinating the activity of the Gandel Simulation Service and team. The GSS Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders, supporting the expansion of the Women's inter-professional simulation service and will report on prescribed deliverables.
**Your contribution**
Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Promote a supportive learning environment for all GSS staff and simulation participants.
- Develop your team by helping set performance goals, tracking results and evaluating performance effectiveness
- Achieve relevant GSS financial and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and, in collaboration with the Chief Nursing and Medical Officer, identify any gaps in performance and identify solutions to resolve performance issues.
- Ensure that all GSS staff work professionally, safely and in accordance with the evidence based guidelines.
**About you**
To be successful within this role you will need to have:
- Registered Midwife and/or Registered Nurse with recent and extensive post registration experience.
- Previous management experience and demonstrated experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated understanding of current evidence-based simulation and clinical learning practice.

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.
As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
