As the Lead Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the electrical design of vessels from initial concept through to final delivery—ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards for Austal Defence Australia. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, setting clear objectives, tracking progress against key milestones, and fostering professional development to drive team performance and innovation.

You'll Need
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent
A solid understanding of LV & ELV Power generation and distribution.
A solid understanding of electrical engineering calculations e.g Short Circuit, Battery calcs
Advanced AutoCAD skills
Solid understanding of Production methods and the practical application of design
A basic understanding of typical ship mechanical systems, to the extent of how they work, and the interface between the electrical and mechanical systems is ideal for this position.
Knowledge of regulatory body rules and regulation requirements
7+ years experience in a similar role
