Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the future of refugee healthcare in Armidale as a skilled Refugee Health Nurse Practitioner.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care and leading clinical practice in Refugee Health and/or Primary Care.


About the Role

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will navigate complex healthcare situations with professionalism and empathy, working autonomously while collaborating across the team.

You will build trust, resolve conflict, and communicate with cultural sensitivity, making a positive impact on the lives of refugees in our community.


Key Responsibilities

* Deliver High-Quality Care: Provide expert nursing care to refugees, prioritizing their physical and emotional well-being.
* Lead Clinical Practice: Develop and implement best practices in Refugee Health and Primary Care, ensuring seamless patient care.
* Navigate Complex Situations: Effectively manage challenging healthcare scenarios, maintaining professionalism and compassion.
* Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with multidisciplinary professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support.
* Culturally Sensitive Communication: Foster strong relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs.


Requirements

* Nurse Practitioner Registration: Current registration with AHPRA as a Nurse Practitioner.
* Social Justice Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to social justice and culturally responsive healthcare.
* Clinical Experience: Proven experience in primary health, refugee health, paediatrics, immunisation, or mental health.
* Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong emotional intelligence, leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills.
