** Pantryman is hiring! **
Who are we?
Pantryman is a small bulk food store offering customers everything you’d find in your pantry and much, much more!
About the role:
* Casual position
* Primarily based at our Mandurah store
* Availability required for weekdays and weekends
* Number of shifts & hours may vary each week
* Payroll is processed weekly, with rates and conditions in line with the General Retail Industry Award (MA000004).
What you’ll be doing:
* Assisting customers and creating a friendly, positive shopping experience
* Receiving, checking and unpacking deliveries
* Filling tubs and restocking shelves
* Preparing batches of our in-house made products
* Stocktaking and ordering stock from our Suppliers
* Keeping the store clean, organised and welcoming
* Using our POS system (EFTPOS + cash handling), including counting the till at the end of the day
* Maintaining high food hygiene standards, including regular cleaning of scoops and shop fixtures
* General cleaning, cardboard and rubbish disposal
The kind of person we’re looking for:
* Initiative - You’re the kind of person who sees something that needs doing before being asked. You’ve got a “what can I do / How can I fix this?” attitude and proactively get things done.
* Reliable - We understand life happens & shifts may need to change. We try to be as supportive as possible, but we do need someone we can count on, not someone who is constantly making last-minute changes.
* Attention to Detail - Accuracy matters, especially when handling stock. Correct products need to go in the correct tubs (we don’t want salted peanuts mixed with unsalted!).
* Honesty - Pantryman is not a big corporation. It’s a two-person, family-owned business. Trust and honesty is everything to us. Treat the place like it’s your own.
* Physically Fit - You’ll be on your feet every shift, and some heavy lifting is required.
* Creative Flair - While not essential, an eye for merchandising & presentation is a big plus.
* Down-to-earth, open-minded & easygoing - You’re approachable, not easily flustered, and take things in your stride. You get along with different types of people and are happy to pitch in and help maintain a positive team environment.
* Experience - Experience is great, but not essential. We’re happy to train the right person.
Future Opportunities:
It can take some time to get fully up to speed in this role. There’s a lot to learn, from day-to-day tasks to becoming familiar with our product range. On top of that, certain times of the year, like Christmas, bring a whole extra layer of learning.
That said, this role has real potential to grow into a management position for the right person. If you’re looking for something you can develop over time and shape into your own, while making a genuine impact on the business, we’d love to hear from you.
To Apply:
Please email your resume to *****@pantryman.com.au
Include a brief introduction about yourself and mention your availability.
