City of Ballarat are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for membership on Council’s Ballarat Airport Stakeholder Reference Group. The purpose of the Ballarat Airport Stakeholder Reference Group is to act as a communicative forum between City of Ballarat officers and members appointed to the group, in relation to: the operation of the Ballarat Airport; future development and other works at the Ballarat Airport; ensuring that Ballarat Airport operational procedures benefit both commercial and community usage; and the delivery of actions arising from the Ballarat Airport Strategy and Master Plan 2024. Applications will be considered from: community representatives with aviation knowledge and experience; Ballarat Airport community tenants who have an interest in the Ballarat Airport’s heritage and/or an interest in maintaining historic aircraft; and representatives from Ballarat Airport businesses Members must operate within the terms of reference for the Ballarat Airport Stakeholder Reference Group, which is attached in the advertisement. Key Selection Criteria Questions: Are you able to commit to 3-4 meetings per year on a Thursday from 8.00am-9.30am? Please describe why you are interested in being member of the group How would you represent your stakeholders’ expertise and interests as a member on the group? (whether general local aviation, airport businesses or airport community tenants with an interest in heritage). Please describe any involvement you have had with developments (infrastructure, operational or business / community groups) at the Ballarat Airport in the past. What do you believe are some of the key priorities for Ballarat Airport in the future, particularly from the perspective of the stakeholders you would represent as a member of the group? Following the closing date, applications will be assessed by a panel of City of Ballarat officers. Preferred and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of the panels recommendation for membership on the Ballarat Airport Stakeholder Reference Group, which will then require a formal resolution of Council. Following Council resolution, successful candidates will be advised of induction requirements and meeting dates by the Ballarat Airport Manager (the officer representative for the group).
