Key responsibilities
1. As Group Tax Manager, you will be responsible for direct and indirect tax operations for the Convatec group, comprising businesses located in over 100 countries.
2. Working alongside a global team of established in-house tax professionals, the role will lead and manage the group tax reporting process, along with responsibility to develop in-house talent and support external advisors with global tax compliance for direct and indirect taxes.
3. The role will play a critical part in transforming and implementing a future-focused tax operating model. It offers opportunities to develop a varied tax career in a listed multinational environment, supporting ad-hoc projects with business units and the wider tax and finance functions.
4. The position sits within the group tax function, responsible for managing strategic tax matters, operational business partnering, and tax reporting and compliance.
5. This role also offers ad-hoc opportunities to support strategic tax projects and the operational tax lifecycle.

7. Leading outsourced global compliance processes for direct and indirect tax.
8. Driving transformation and change across the group’s tax operations, supporting training and development of centralized in-house GBS resources to better support and internalize the tax lifecycle.
9. Performing technical review and analysis of group tax provision reporting in Longview, as prepared by GBS.
10. Supporting forecasting of ETR and cash taxes, and communicating effectively with colleagues.
11. Providing input for process improvements and supporting the implementation of new processes and tools for tax reporting, compliance, and forecasting, aiming to deliver efficiencies and simplify processes following “simplify, standardize and automate” principles.
12. Staying updated on global tax laws, rules, regulations, and accounting pronouncements impacting the Group.
Key requirements
1. Tax reporting expertise and technical experience in direct tax.
2. Awareness of indirect taxes is desirable.
3. Motivated by change and eager to develop a broad skillset across the tax lifecycle.
4. Experience working with multinational enterprises or within in-house tax/finance functions.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
7. Knowledge of Longview or similar tax reporting software, and ERP systems like SAP, is useful.

Education/Qualifications
1. Accounting and/or CTA qualified.
2. Strong technical knowledge of tax accounting under IFRS.
Travel Requirements
The role may require occasional travel to London Paddington or Lisbon offices.
