Our client is an established national contractor with a specialism in delivering industrial, retail, and commercial building and refurbishment projects throughout Australia. Due to a heavy workload and recently secured additional projects from repeat business clients, including in the retail, fast food, and industrial space, this building contractor seeks to hire a construction Senior Project Manager with previous, demonstrable success with mid-tier construction, fit-out, and refurbishment contractors in Australia.

In this position, you will be reporting to the QLD State Manager, with a team in place under your guidance. Initially, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering a $35M new-build supermarket and retail complex in the Ipswich region. You will direct and supervise a wide cross-section of sub-contractors and be proficient in programming and budgeting. You will have a sound contractual understanding and importantly, you will be required to utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and architects, whilst continually representing the company in a professional manner.
To be suitable for this position, it is anticipated that you will possess the following:
- Ideally, a degree in Construction Management or similar tertiary qualification.
- Several years of experience working in the construction industry, progressing through to a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager.
- As a Project Manager, you will have delivered commercial, retail, and industrial projects up to and in excess of $30M.
- Strong contractual acumen.
- Experience working for established, systems-driven contractors in Brisbane.
- Experience working with established costing and programming systems, such as Procore, Jobpac, CHEOPS, MS Projects, Aconex, Hammertech.
- Brisbane-based.
- Pride in your work and a desire to deliver quality projects to your client.
