Job Description

The Role of a Senior Region Advisor

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring funded projects are delivered successfully. You will provide training and governance support to local councils to help them understand their legislative responsibilities and maintain transparency and integrity.

You will be working with 37 local government areas across the northern region of the state. Your main tasks include building relationships with local governments, maintaining advanced knowledge of the sector, and providing advice on matters such as statutory obligations, governance, project management, and financial sustainability issues.

You will work closely with councils to ensure grants projects are completed on time and within budget. You will also prepare written material, such as correspondence, briefs, and reports, to advise stakeholders and make recommendations on key issues.

As a Senior Region Advisor, you will demonstrate positive influence by providing direction, mentoring, and support to other advisors. You will promote continuous improvement processes and cross-agency and cross-council collaboration.

You may be required to perform a range of tasks outside your main duties, but these must be within your skill, competency, and training, or incidental and peripheral to your main duties.

Responsibilities include:
* Maintain advanced knowledge of the local government sector.
* Build and maintain cohesive relationships with local government division.
* Work with councils to ensure grants projects are delivered on time and within scope.
* Prepare written material for stakeholders.
* Demonstrate positive influence as a Senior Advisor.
