We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong Elasticsearch expertise to join a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team supporting secure Microsoft Azure PROTECTED environments.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about Elastic administration, optimisation, and performance tuning within mission-critical cloud platforms.
Key Focus - Elastic Engineering
You will optimise solutions using Elasticsearch and the Elastic Stack, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing search and analytics capabilities.
Core Responsibilities:
* Manage and optimise Elastic cluster configurations
* Design effective indexing strategies
* Perform query optimisation and troubleshooting
* Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning
* Implement backup and recovery strategies
* Ensure Elastic security and compliance within PROTECTED environments
Cloud Engineering Responsibilities
* Deliver cloud development activities in Azure
* Maintain Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
* Automate deployments and build self-service capabilities
* Support and troubleshoot Java applications in Linux
* Contribute to complex solution design
* Monitor cloud-native services and drive operational improvements
* Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing
Mandatory Experience
* Proven experience in Microsoft Azure PROTECTED environments
* Strong hands-on Elasticsearch / Elastic Stack experience
* PowerShell scripting skills
* Java troubleshooting in Linux (or Java development experience)
* Experience with automated deployments
* Infrastructure as Code expertise (Ansible and ARM preferred
* NV1 security clearance (required)
