About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Health Information Services Team as the Chart Correction Officer on a temporary basis.
Health Information Services (HIS) supports a wide network of tertiary health services such as The Canberra Hospital, University of Canberra Hospital, North Canberra Hospital, Mental Health, Justice Health, Alcohol and Drug Services, Walk in Centres, Community Health Centres and specialist outpatient services. HIS provides a range of functions including scanning, health record management, release of information, patient identifier maintenance, chart correction, health record forms design and managing access to personal health information to facilitate patient care follow-up, quality improvement, education, and hospital management purposes.
The Chart Correction Officer interprets, and actions requests for health record documentation error correction which includes close liaison with clinicians to resolve. The role also manages complex patient duplicate records, incorrect patient demographic updates, providing advice on potential duplicates and merging/unmerging processes, ensuring patient confidentiality is always maintained.
We are looking for someone who can work independently under limited direction, prioritise and coordinate activities to achieve outcomes within tight deadlines, has strong organisational skills, and the flexibility to accommodate change and provide responsive services to meet operational and client needs.
