Aurec has been exclusively retained by a leading digital and business consulting firm to appoint a
Defence Sector Lead
. This is a pivotal executive hire with full accountability for driving Defence market growth, shaping the go to market strategy, and building a high performing team in Canberra.
The Chance
This is an opportunity for either a proven executive or an emerging executive with the drive to step up.
While this is a build role, you won't be starting from scratch. The firm already has Defence credentials through active engagements and participation on primary and key sub-panel arrangements.
Success will require rolling up your sleeves, leveraging your deep Defence networks, and bringing relentless energy to secure work, build a team, and establish a market leading business.
You'll be responsible for originating and winning major work within Defence Digital Group (DDG) and across the broader Defence ecosystem. This role goes beyond strategy, you'll be on task, executing from pipeline generation and bid leadership through to delivery excellence and long term client relationships.
What you'll do
Own and drive the Defence go to market (GTM) strategy with full accountability for results.
Win and deliver strategic Defence engagements.
Lead commercial negotiations and secure long term contracts.
Build, mentor, and scale a high performing consulting team.
Ensure delivery excellence, profitability, and client satisfaction across all engagements.
Represent the Defence portfolio at an executive and industry level.
Who you are
A proven executive or emerging executive in Defence consulting, professional services, or government with a track record of
winning and delivering Defence work.
Commercially astute with deep networks across Defence.
A hands on, execution focused leader – equally comfortable with executives, the bid room, and in delivery.
Strategic in approach, but relentless in driving outcomes from concept through to successful delivery.
