Key Responsibilities
Ensure efficient and effective use of labour and resources and evaluation of production efficiency
Daily check in with all staff to track progress & provide ongoing support and guidance to the team
Keeping a timetable and tracking on task progress & liaising between all departments on a daily / ongoing basis
Provide weekly progress updates on Machine builds & monthly input of build specification data
Conduct a weekly 'Toolbox' meeting with all staff
Manage the production schedule & ensure work is completed in accordance with the production schedule, effectively communicate deadlines and timeframes for tasks
Assign and monitor sub-assembly work orders plus monitor component and sub-assembly availability
Manage stock requests from supervisors & managing consumables through team planning and ongoing stock level checks
Confirm build details before parts allocation by stores
Daily check in for parts/work orders needed
Ensuring that the production team are adhering to safety, environmental and industrial standards and company policies
Supervise the production team, ensuring that the Machines are built in accordance with the approved design and specifications
Develop and implement quality control methods across production, ensuring that QC checks are carried out in accordance with production policies
Consulting with management in relation to any employee infringements and disciplinary actions required
Keep a timetable and task tracking system which is easily accessible to all staff
Coordinate planned maintenance and minimise operational disruptions
Oversee daily scheduling and workflow planning to ensure resources, equipment, and personnel are effectively coordinated to meet project timelines and DIFOT targets
Manage supervisors, boilermakers, and other workshop team members to ensure productivity, discipline, and adherence to company standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing rework, and optimising team performance
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance communication, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years relevant production co-ordination/management experience
Experience using Excel and ERP systems is essential
Australian citizenship is required for this position
Safety-driven with a continuous improvement mindset
Experience in production/operations management within engineering, manufacturing, or construction sectors.
Experience in managing manufacturing projects
3+ years in a similar role
Professional project management qualification or equivalent industry experience
Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement certifications.
