We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Concrete Grinder / Floor Prep Technician to join our team. This role is critical to delivering high-quality flooring installs, you’ll be responsible for preparing concrete substrates to exact standards before any flooring is laid.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in getting the foundation right, not cutting corners.
Key Responsibilities
Subfloor Inspection & Assessment
* Inspect concrete slabs for cracks, high spots, hollows, and contamination
* Check floor flatness (within 3mm over 2m tolerance)
* Identify moisture issues and unsuitable site conditions
* Report and document defects before starting work
Concrete Grinding & Surface Prep
* Grind concrete floors to remove paint, glue, plaster, and contaminants
* Use diamond grinders and appropriate tooling for each job
* Ensure no curing compounds or “shiny spots” remain
* Achieve a clean, even surface ready for levelling
Levelling & Patching
* Apply primers correctly as per product specifications
* Patch cracks and repair damaged areas
* Use self-levelling compounds to bring floors within tolerance
* Re-check flatness after curing
Site Cleanliness & Quality Control
* Vacuum thoroughly — no dust or debris left behind
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment
* Photograph prep work before installation begins
* Ensure all prep meets company quality standards
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in concrete grinding or floor preparation (preferred)
* Ability to operate grinding equipment safely and efficiently
* Strong attention to detail — especially with levels and finish quality
* Physically fit and capable of manual labour
* Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in their work
* Ability to follow systems and instructions
Requirements
* White Card (essential)
* Driver’s licence (essential)
* Experience with grinders, vacuums, and levelling products (ideal but can train)
