Description About the Role Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking applications for a Private Music Percussion Teacher to support the Junior School's Instrumental Music Program one day per week. The School's Instrumental Music Program provides students at all levels of musical ability with high-quality instruction and musical experiences, and enriches the broader community with vibrant concerts and events. As a Private Music Percussion Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging, age-appropriate percussion and drum kit lessons to Junior School students, fostering both foundational skills and a love of music Plan and implement structured lessons that develop technique, rhythm, coordination, and musical literacy Prepare students for performances, concerts, and potential examination pathways where appropriate Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding progress, goals, and practice expectations Maintain accurate attendance records, support ensemble participation where relevant, and contribute positively to the wider music program About You The successful applicant will possess: Relevant qualifications Comprehensive understanding of and expertise in teaching Percussion Excellent technological literacy The ability to work collaboratively and energetically within a high-performing school culture Ability to acquire and maintain a Positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
