Clozapine Program Coordinator
### Overview
The role of Clozapine Program Coordinator is a vital position that requires an experienced registered Mental Health Nurse to provide efficient, evidence-based and responsive mental health care to consumers who attend the Clozapine Service.
### Key Responsibilities
As a Clozapine Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing monitoring of the Clozapine program, including the Clopine Shared Care component. This involves ensuring that all clinical monitoring is carried out within the time frames set out in the Clopine Central TM Protocol. Additionally, you will provide support to medical staff, external GPs and Community Pharmacists who prescribe Clozapine to consumers in the Shared Care Program.
### Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you must have AHPRA registration or eligibility for the AASW for Social Workers. Recent clinical experience in a range of mental health settings, including bed-based units and community mental health, is also essential. You should have well-developed mental health assessment skills, good knowledge of the Mental Health Wellbeing Act and other relevant legislation, and high-level knowledge of Clozapine and Clopine management protocols.
### About the Role
This part-time position will cover 5 days per week, Monday to Friday. You will work closely with GMHWS Leadership team, clinical teams, Learning and Development and ASO teams, Private Psychiatrists and General Practitioners to ensure that people who are prescribed clozapine receive regular, comprehensive physical health assessment and metabolic monitoring in accordance with the Clopine Central TM Protocol, and are linked with primary health care which is safe and effective, places the person and their recovery at the centre of care and makes a positive difference in their life.
