By combining these functions in one collaborative unit, OGC offers a unique environment where every team member contributes to meaningful, cross-functional work that shapes the University's success.About the RoleAs the Director - Conduct and Regulatory Law, you will be responsible for leading the Conduct and Regulatory team and providing strategic legal advice to support the University's business objectives. This is a leadership role within the OGC and university. This role will work closely with the Director - Commercial Law to support the General Counsel and Executive Director Risk and Compliance to lead and manage the university's legal function. This role involves overseeing all legal matters relating to regulatory compliance for Higher Ed, commercial transactions to support onshore and offshore education initiatives, people and conduct related matters for both staff and students including dispute resolution. The Director - Conduct and Regulatory Law will work closely with senior management, business units, and external stakeholders to support a broad range of university activities and advise about ensuring legal compliance.Successful applicants will have;1. Been admitted as an Australian legal practitioner2. Completed undergraduate qualification or extensive experience and management expertise3. Significant Post-admission experience as a lawyer which enables provision of legal services in an in-house role4. Experience in a leadership role and/or mentorship of legal practitioners5. Demonstrated legal drafting skills and commercial acumen.6. Demonstrated knowledge across a range of relevant legal areas such as employment law, dispute resolution, regulatory/compliance law, corporate law, intellectual property and/or information technology7. Comprehensive understanding of university structures, policies, procedures and systems
Remuneration
A comprehensive salary package will be on offer to the successful candidate. This role is classified as an SSG2.This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
