Job Summary
The Senior Financial Accountant position entails the preparation of monthly financial reports, including variance analysis and compliance with IFRS accounting standards. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial data, as well as maintaining a high level of transparency in all financial dealings.
Responsibilities
* Monthly and quarterly financial reports require meticulous preparation and review to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* A thorough understanding of IFRS accounting standards and GRASP is essential for this role.
* Balance Sheet, subledgers, and InterCompany reconciliations must be completed on a monthly basis.
* Assistance with annual statutory accounts preparation is required for submission to relevant authorities.
* Liaising with external auditors by providing requested information on a timely basis is crucial.
* Daily review and posting of journal entries, approval of suppliers' payment runs are also key responsibilities.
* Weekly Cash forecast and AR reports must be prepared and submitted to senior management.
* Management of equipment leases and fixed assets accounting is another important aspect of this role.
Qualifications
* A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification is preferred.
* At least 5 years' experience in a similar role with knowledge of consolidated company accounting & reporting in large organisations is required.
* Moderate to advanced Excel skills are necessary for maintaining and creating new models.
* Familiarity with major ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, Essbase, and Pronto is advantageous.
