As a Clinical Nurse Consultant in SESLHD you will play a pivotal role to the Prince of Wales Hospital in clinical service and consultancy, clinical leadership, research, education and clinical services planning and management. The Tuberculosis (TB) Clinical Nurse Consultant delivers specialist clinical expertise and leadership in the management of tuberculosis. The role encompasses assessment and coordination of TB care, treatment monitoring and adherence support, infection control, while providing expert consultation to healthcare teams.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant supports service development, staff education, quality improvement, and compliance with national guidelines, and advocates for patients through a holistic, culturally appropriate, and evidence-based approach to TB prevention and care.
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant you will utilise your extensive experience and/or qualifications to:
* Lead and provide expert clinical consultancy practice in the development and implementation of the
* Spinal Cord Injuries service;
* Provide leadership and direction for quality improvement and clinical service standards in the Spinal
* Injuries Unit.
* Lead skill development in coaching, clinical supervision and leadership; act as a role model, be
* responsible for engaging with staff, carers, patients and consumers to facilitate Spinal Cord injuries
* specific education and consultancy
* Support, and evaluate practice change related to patient care, fostering excellence in clinical, educational
* and professional leadership.
* Strong focus on support related to Bowel and Bladder Management of patients with a spinal cord injury.
* Extensive support in the NDIS and I-Care Application processes.
Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and current NSW Drivers License (if required by service).
* Minimum five years full time equivalent post qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.
* Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
* Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
* Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based research.
* Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes.
* Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
* Demonstrated clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
