The Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Reintegration Service aims to foster a positive, prosocial, and recovery-oriented environment that supports sustainable reintegration.As the AOD Reintegration Case Worker, you will play a key role in developing and facilitating recovery focused case plans and reintegration services aligned with the Department of Justice’s Case Management Plan. This role involves working in both pre and post release settings and contributing to the design and delivery of culturally safe and responsive support programs.The SWAMS is dedicated to enhancing employment opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This position is designated under Section 50 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), and as such, only Aboriginal people are eligible to apply.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement individualised recovery and reintegration plans, including relapse prevention strategies and tools.Collaborate with the Family Reintegration Worker to support early engagement and continuity of care for families.Provide culturally appropriate support using lived experience (where applicable) to build trust and connection.Assist with care planning and transitional support for participants and their families pre and post release.Deliver group-based education and support programs, including SMART Recovery, cognitive behavioural sessions, and peer coaching.Build capacity and understanding of AOD recovery within families and the broader community.Promote a strength based, trauma informed, and person centered approach to care.Tertiary qualification (or working towards) in social, behavioural, or health sciences, or equivalent experience.Demonstrated experience in AOD recovery and case management using trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based approaches.Proven ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Experience in delivering education, training, or group programs.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.Ability to model resilience, emotional maturity, and positive behaviours.Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment.Well-developed oral and written communication skills.Experience in an AOD therapeutic community or justice setting.Understanding of the “community as method” model of care.Additional RequirementsCurrent WA Driver’s Licence.Working With Children Check (WWCC).National Police Clearance (prior to employment).Clear drug and alcohol screening (prior to employment).Why SWAMS?Along with working with passionate people and being able to feel like you have contributed to something every day, SWAMS offers the following:17.5% leave loadingUp to $18,550 salary packaging optionsGenerous leave allowancesFor InformationFor further information about this position, please phone Human Resources on (08) 9797 8111 during normal business hours.To ApplyTo apply for this role please please follow the online application process of this platform or email your application through to: HR@SWAMS.com.au.
