About the Role
As a Bookings Officer, you'll be responsible for coordinating theatre schedules, managing daily surgical bookings, and ensuring timely and accurate updates to theatre lists. You'll work closely with a range of clinical and administrative teams, including surgeons, theatre coordinators, and bed management, to support seamless patient care and operational efficiency.
Hours
* Permanent Part-Time
• 0.8 FTE = 60 hours per fortnight
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and update theatre schedules, ensuring accuracy and timely communication of changes
* Coordinate ad-hoc and on-call surgical sessions, handling complex scheduling requests
* Support the Bed Bookings Manager with daily tasks and deadlines
* Liaise with doctors' rooms to obtain and confirm operating lists
* Monitor theatre capacity and communicate patient-specific needs to relevant teams
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection and privacy standards
About You
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly when managing last-minute changes
* Proficiency in scheduling systems and standard office software
* High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across all tasks
* Professional and discreet approach when handling sensitive patient information
Desirable
* Previous administrative experience within a healthcare setting
* Strong Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology
* Proficient typing skills and a professional, courteous phone manner
