Support Therapist Position
We are seeking a Support Therapist to join our Foster & Kinship program, providing targeted support to recruit, train, assess and support Foster & Kinship carers.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with a team empowering Foster and Kinship carers to help meet the needs of children and young people in their care.
The successful candidate will focus on providing direct therapeutic interventions with children and young people and supporting foster and kinship carers, requiring some after hours and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build rapport and relate to children and young people within a micro therapeutic manner, supporting foster and kinship carers.
* Recruit, train, assess and onboard new carers, including in-home support.
* Assess complex and extreme needs of children, developing and implementing individualized care plans.
* Deliver training and facilitation of support groups within child-centered frameworks.
* Operate within family-focused networks, completing complex documentation on time and within guidelines.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences or similar field.
* Previous experience working with Carers, including training, recruitment, and onboarding of new carers.
* Current Blue Card (Working with Children) or willingness to obtain.
* Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
* Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
* Current COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
