We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function, drive supplier performance, and ensure the smooth flow of materials to support our busy manufacturing operations.
As Purchasing Manager, you'll lead our procurement function – managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely supply of materials to keep production on track. You'll oversee inventory, demand forecasting, and stock levels, while driving cost optimisation and process improvements. Working closely with other departments, you'll play a key role in resolving supply chain challenges and supporting manufacturing targets. This is a leadership role requiring strong negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and effective communication.
About the Role
As Purchasing Manager, you will:
 * Lead and mentor a small team of 2 purchasing staff.
 * Oversee supplier negotiations, tenders, and contracts to deliver best value.
 * Build strong supplier relationships, conduct monthly KPI reviews, and visit key suppliers quarterly.
 * Resolve supply chain issues directly on the manufacturing floor, ensuring uninterrupted production.
 * Drive cost reduction initiatives (10–15% over 5 years) and continuous process improvement.
 * Manage inventory turnover, demand forecasting, and stock optimisation.
 * Report on procurement KPIs using ERP and Tableau, ensuring accountability and transparency.
What We're Looking For
 * 5+ years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (manufacturing background preferred).
 * Proven success in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost optimisation.
 * Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a team.
 * Hands-on problem solver, confident working across the shop floor and with leadership teams.
 * Proficiency in ERP systems and reporting tools.
 * Excellent communication, analytical, and commercial acumen.
 * Must have Australian work authorisation or permanent residency rights.
