The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with 3D CAD software. You will be working closely with our development team to create cutting-edge mechanical components and systems that meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for our quantum sensor products.
">
* Collaborating with physicists, electronic, and software engineers to integrate mechanical components into the overall system design.
">
* Working closely with external suppliers to build and maintain relationships to push the innovation of our products.
">
* Maintaining a safe and organized lab/machine shop environment.
">
* Assisting with the maintenance of deployed sensors.
">
">
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work both independently and within collaborative teams.

You should also have:
">
">
* A B.Sc or M.Sc in mechanical, aerospace, mechatronics engineering, or a related field.
">
* Ideal 2-3 years of experience designing and prototyping precision mechanical systems.
">
* Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
">
* Experience designing for a range of manufacturing techniques, including CNC machined parts.
">
* Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools.
">
* Ideal experience designing flexure components and optomechanical systems.
">
* Ideal experience designing systems that tightly integrate electrical components.
">
* Highly initiative with the ability to work both independently and within collaborative teams.
">
* Ability to be hands-on for manufacturing & assembling of jigs, prototypes & products.
">
* Must have current full working rights in Australia.
