Bay City Marine, Hervey Bay's premier dealership, is looking for a skilled Marine Technician (Boat Fit-Up Specialist) to join our award-winning team.

This role is all about bringing new boats to life. You'll be fitting out Australia's most iconic aluminium boat brands – Quintrex and Yellowfin – and installing industry-leading Mercury and Yamaha outboards, along with Garmin, Simrad & Lowrance electronics and accessories - all with precision and care. If you've got an auto-electric background and an exceptional eye for detail, this is your chance to turn your skills into finished boats that customers can't wait to get on the water.
What You'll Be Doing
* Installing new Yamaha & Mercury outboard motors, controls, and rigging systems
* Fitting and wiring electronics, solar and battery systems
* Installing custom marine accessories
* Carrying out electrical troubleshooting and repairs
* Ensuring all installations meet high safety and quality standards
* Working closely with the team to provide advice and ensure boats leave the workshop perfectly set up
* Keeping accurate job records and maintain a clean and safe workspace
What We're Looking For
* 2–3+ years' experience in boat fit-up, auto-electrics or similar role
* Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and outboard motor installation
* Exceptional attention to detail – your work needs to be neat, safe, and reliable
* Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication skills with a customer-first attitude
