Job Title: Linux Enablement Manager
We are seeking a skilled Linux Enablement Manager to lead our software engineering team in delivering OEM enablement projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to utilize their technical expertise and management abilities to drive success.
About the Role:
* We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in Linux systems, low-level debugging, and critical thinking skills.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, motivating, mentoring, and enabling the team to succeed in delivering quality products.
* This role requires excellent time management, goal-setting, task prioritization, and team health monitoring skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the software engineering team to deliver OEM enablement projects.
2. Recruit, motivate, mentor, and enable team members to succeed in delivering quality products.
3. Set goals with the team, prioritize tasks, and identify and measure team health indicators.
4. Maximize the results of team members and support their career growth.
5. Coordinate with project managers, HWE, QA, and certification management.
6. Monitor projects from kickoff to post-mortem and handle escalations.
7. Communicate, understand, and resolve technical challenges with OEMs, ODMs, SiPs, IHVs.
8. Prioritize customer requests globally.
9. Collaborate with product engineering teams, including Desktop, Foundations, Kernel, and Security.
10. Provide leadership on methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM, preferably computer science or software engineering.
* Proven track record in technical roles with Linux, preferably Ubuntu or Debian.
* Commitment to development and testing methodologies, and maintainable code quality.
* Experience with management responsibilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
* Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable Skills:
* Making technical decisions for a team as a tech lead.
* Software architecture and design experience.
* Software development or operations experience with various technologies, including Ubuntu, kernel, userspace, deb/snap packaging, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD, Containers, Python, Go, C, bash, Postgresql, Mongo, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, AI/ML.
* Participation in open-source development projects.
* Experience with CI/CD.
