About the Role and Where You Will Be Working
Southern Cross Care WA is expanding our payroll team with two additional team members to assist with leave coverage and additional projects. We are looking for either Payroll Administrators or Payroll Officers. You will join an established, stable team and have exposure to projects such as the implementation of a new HRMIS. This is a flexible hybrid position, working in our central office (Rivervale) for two days a week and remote for the other three. The role is a max‐term position until 30th July 2027, with the opportunity to be extended or converted to a permanent position.
Responsibilities
* Process complex end‐to‐end payroll, including onboarding, off‐boarding, contract variations, adjustments, leave cash‐outs, timesheet imports, data checking, variance analysis, and system processes within defined timeframes with high accuracy and speed.
* Resolve payroll queries in a timely and efficient manner.
* Comply with audit requirements.
* Complete complex calculations with an analytical eye for errors and variances.
Qualifications
* Knowledge and understanding of payroll processing fundamentals, without reliance on a system.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
* Knowledge of current legislative requirements relating to taxation and superannuation.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* The ability to think critically and solve problems.
* Resilience to persevere during manual tasks and repetitive work.
* Willingness to learn, take notes, and adapt to remote training.
