The Logistics Coordinator & Delivery Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations, coordinating the movement of goods, and leading the delivery team to ensure safe, timely, and efficient service. This role combines hands‑on delivery work (requiring a valid MR licence) with leadership responsibilities, operational planning, and continuous improvement across the logistics function.


Key Responsibilities


Logistics Coordination

* Plan, schedule, and optimise daily delivery routes and logistics activities.
* Ensure accurate documentation and compliance.
* Monitor stock movements, delivery timelines, and workflow priorities.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle usage, and logistics data.
* Lead, supervise, and support the delivery team to achieve operational targets.
* Conduct daily briefings, allocate tasks, and manage performance.
* Provide coaching, training, and development to delivery staff.
* Foster a positive, safety‑focused team culture.
* Assist with recruitment and onboarding of delivery personnel when required.


Delivery Duties

* Operate MR‑class vehicles safely and in accordance with road laws and company policies.
* Complete scheduled deliveries and pickups as needed to support operational demand.
* Ensure goods are loaded, secured, and unloaded safely.
* Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers.


Safety & Compliance

* Ensure all logistics and delivery activities comply with WHS requirements.
* Conduct vehicle and equipment checks, reporting maintenance needs promptly.
* Maintain compliance with fatigue management, chain of responsibility, and transport regulations.
* Promote and enforce safe work practices across the team.
* Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and customer service.
* Assist in developing and implementing new processes and systems.
* Monitor KPIs and contribute to operational reporting.


Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in logistics, transport, or delivery operations.
* Experience leading or supervising a team.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Competence with basic computer systems and logistics software.
* Forklift licence (LF).
* Experience in route planning or fleet coordination.
* Knowledge of chain of responsibility and transport compliance requirements.
