Full-time (38 hours per week) Optional flexibility to convert to Part-time or Job Share Moogji Aboriginal Council (Moogji) came into being in 1989 when the then Aboriginal Women and Children’s Group and Moogji Aboriginal Cooperative combined. Today at Moogji, we support community members through their life journeys to achieve the best health and wellbeing outcomes possible, strengthen cultural and community connections and reach employment and economic development goals. We do this through the provision of quality services and programs in a culturally safe environment, facilitating employment and training opportunities, supporting strong community leadership and advocating for community needs and aspirations. Moogji is a child safe organisation, committed to child safety and wellbeing, and recruits staff in accordance with the Child Safe Standards Victoria. Our vision is that the Aboriginal Community in Far East Gippsland is physically, spiritually, emotionally, and economically healthy, vibrant, strong, proud and culturally connected. __________________________________________________________________________________ Program Area – Medical The Health and Wellbeing of our Community is a strong focus for Moogji. Our medical team operate the Medical Clinic at Stanley Street, along with other health promotional activities. Position Summary: Nurses are key members of our General Practice team and play a pivotal role in maintaining quality and safety in the clinic. The prime objectives for this role are: To provide patient care incorporating best practice principals, up to date clinical knowledge and technical advances. To provide services for patients through awareness of individual health and social requirements with respect for the patients as people. To provide competent, patient-centred care that addresses health needs and promotes wellness based on latest evidence and guidelines that meets legislative requirements. Maintain strict confidentiality for all patient information gained through consultation and conversations. Provide all staff, including doctors, nurses, reception, visiting specialists, management and contractors with a working environment that is respectful and has awareness of the individual personal and social requirements. Maintain a happy practice that has a focus on work / life balance. Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a clinical setting. The Practice Nurse will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. A job share arrangement and/or 3-4 days per week employment may be considered for the right applicant. Responsibilities: Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to physicians Assist with diagnostic tests, blood collection and procedures Educate patients on health and wellness topics Maintain accurate patient records and documentation Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care Participate in quality improvement initiatives Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent Current nursing license Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practices and procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged, but this is not an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander appointment.
