About the company A global havyweight of cybersecurity & risk management. They are based in the USA, but have a development team locally, based in St Leonards. They offer excellent WFH options (4 or even 5 days a week), but they still need the team to be Sydney based, so they can draw the team together occasionally. About the role The role is largely one of Java Development, but the particular product this team works on is closely tied to data streams & big data services. As such we are looking for someone who has strong Java development skills (i.e. Spring, J2EE, Agile) bus also has excellent data engineering jobs (Ideally working with Kafka & Snowflake, but we'd equally be interested in someone who knows the Apache world or Azure people). You defineitly need to know now to optimise complex SQL queries. So probably the ideal candidate is a Java Developer who has turned their hand to Data Engineering over the last couple of years. It's also a big complex environment. Hence it would be ideal if you came out of one of the big banks or another enterprise environment. You also need to be a solid communicator and a team player.
