About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a passionate English/Humanities teacher to join a welcoming school in Caroline Springs, Melbourne's West, starting in Term 3. This full-time, permanent role is open to teachers at any career stage, from graduates to experienced educators. You'll teach English and Humanities to students in Years 7-9, working within a small, supportive faculty. The school promotes collaboration, professional growth, and inclusive practices, with a strong focus on student engagement. Key duties:
* Plan and deliver English/Humanities lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering literature, writing, grammar, history, geography, and social studies.
* Design engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to varied learning styles and promote critical thinking through discussions, activities, and projects.
* Foster inquiry-based learning by encouraging analysis, research, and independent thinking on key humanities topics and issues.
* Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to develop interdisciplinary units that build cross-curricular connections.
* Stay current through ongoing professional development in teaching strategies, curriculum trends, and technology use in the classroom.
Skills & Experience:
* Must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia
* Current VIT registration is essential
* Proven experience teaching English/Hums at Secondary school in Australia
* Graduates are welcome to apply and will be supported
* Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
