We are seeking a
Database Engineer
to own the reliability, performance, and security of mission-critical databases across multi-cloud environments. In this role, you will work closely with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to ensure our database platforms are scalable, secure, and highly available.
Responsibilities
* Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases
* Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance and capacity
* Design, manage, and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
* Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and compliance standards
* Configure and support replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions
* Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and tooling
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex database incidents and performance issues
* Maintain clear documentation for database configurations, procedures, and runbooks
* Collaborate closely with DevOps, SRE, and development teams to support CI/CD and cloud initiatives
Requirements
* Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and/or Oracle administration
* Proven experience in database performance tuning, replication, and high availability
* Scripting and automation skills using Shell, Python, or similar languages
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI)
* Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible
* Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
* Working knowledge of GCP Cloud
* Strong understanding of database security best practices
Nice to have
* Experience supporting large-scale, distributed systems
* Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments
* Knowledge of compliance frameworks and data governance standards
