About the Role:
WorkPac is seeking a Specialist Closure to join the team at Rio Tinto. The role will involve developing asset closure strategies that strengthen partnerships and balance environmental, financial, and social risks.
The ideal candidate will embed closure planning principles at all stages of the asset life cycle.
This is a Monday to Friday roster, Perth based position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Incorporate closure planning principles into studies, mine planning, and operational decisions across time horizons (whole of asset life cycle).
* Champion closure, foster collaboration and two-way sharing of information with key internal stakeholders.
* Provide closure guidance to peers and asset teams.
* Deliver closure planning requirements to support Part IV approvals, compliance, and studies.
* Deliver inputs to support Senior Advisor NCR and RaAF accountabilities.
* Own and manage asset closure risk register/s.
* Ensure conformance with the RT Closure Standard at the asset level.
* Partner to coordinate and deliver Asset Closure Strategies (ACSs).
* Support delivery of targeted stakeholder engagement on closure to inform studies, approvals, and asset closure planning.
* Collaborate and support delivery of closure planning requirements, strategic and technical projects across RTIO assets.
Requirements:
* Experience in planning and project management.
* Studies and operational support.
* Developing experience in stakeholder engagement.
* Tertiary or University level qualifications in a relevant field.
