Job Description
Are you passionate about delivering technical excellence and building strong customer relationships? Viva Energy Australia is looking for a Products Support Engineer – PNG to be the go to expert for our strategic accounts and sales teams in Papua New Guinea.
In this pivotal role, you will:
* Provide first-line technical support and guidance on the application of Shell lubricants and fuels.
* Help customers unlock the full potential of Shell’s world-class products and services.
* Collaborate closely with our sales team to deliver tailored solutions that drive commercial success.
* Position Shell products as a clear technical and commercial differentiator in a competitive market.
* Be willing and able to travel regularly to PNG.
Key Responsibilities:
* Championing HSSE : Lead by example in promoting a strong Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) culture across all activities.
* Building Technical Partnerships : Support and strengthen long-term technical relationships with key direct accounts in PNG.
* Driving Commercial Impact : Translate technical expertise into commercial success by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
* Delivering Customer Value : Provide practical, front-line technical support to customers and sales teams resolving around 90% of technical issues directly.
* Maximizing Opportunities : Work closely with sales to align technical solutions with business goals and unlock new revenue streams.
* Balancing Priorities : Navigate the intersection of technical requirements and commercial pressures to deliver optimal outcomes.
* Communicating with Clarity : Simplify complex technical information and communicate it effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Managing Relationships : Build trust and maintain strong relationships with key customers and their stakeholders.
* Continuous Learning : Take ownership of your development while supporting others with your technical knowledge and insights.
Qualifications
* A degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field (e.g. BSc, BEng).
* 2–5 years of experience in the hydrocarbons, mining, or industrial sectors.
* Previous experience in a customer-facing or technical support role (preferred).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills—both written and verbal.
* A solid understanding of engineering principles in mining, industrial operations, or transport sectors.
