Reporting to the Senior Maintenance & Delivery Manager, in this new career opportunity as the Technical Compliance Officer, the experience you bring to this position will see you work proactively in collaboration with functional teams and defence force specialists, focused as a specialist in the field of technical maintenance, installation and servicing requirements of the submarine environment, with specific emphasis in the safety, health and environment aspects.
In your new role you will engage with Commonwealth representatives, RAN personnel and key internal stakeholders, to provide the vital support necessary to maintain safety and compliance standards, in accordance with company policies, Australian Standards as well as state and federal legislation.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- In this position you will be entrusted with responsibility to capture, develop, plan and execute combat system upgrades and sustainment projects, as you work to ensure full compliance with legislative and best practice safety management.
- Responsible for supporting the team to ensure implementation and day-to-day compliance with the company's environmental, health and safety management system, as well as the various areas of technical compliance in the maintenance and delivery technician teams.
- Oversee EHS inductions, provide training, support injury management actions; undertake incident investigations and support corrective actions, as well as advising and participating audit programs and inspections.
- Assist with the implementation and development of procedures to maintain appropriate emergency response support to the Site Emergency Planning Committee as you work proactively to support all environment, health and safety initiatives.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**:
- A background in defence industry enhanced by knowledge in Naval or military management systems, technology, hardware and operational programs will be highly advantageous.
- This position will be enhanced by certificate level qualifications in health and safety as well as Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.
- Construction White Card, 'C' Class Driver's license.
- Minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience, coupled with a working knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and standards.
- Experience in providing training and guidance in EHS and Risk Management and experience developing and assisting with implementation of Return-to-Work Plans.
