About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mid to Senior Environmental Consultant with a current Fauna Spotter Catcher licence and proven experience working on projects in Queensland. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of Queensland’s environmental legislation, construction-phase environmental management, and ecological fieldwork.
You will support a diverse range of infrastructure, resources, and development projects, providing technical expertise in fauna management, environmental compliance, and the preparation of approvals-related documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver fauna spotter catcher services during pre-clearance and construction activities in accordance with Queensland guidelines.
* Undertake ecological field surveys and provide practical advice to ensure environmental compliance on Queensland-based projects.
* Prepare and review environmental documentation, including ecological assessments, management plans, pre-clearance reports, and compliance reports.
* Support project teams and clients with Queensland and Commonwealth environmental approvals, permit applications, and conditions management.
* Provide site-based environmental supervision, auditing, and on-ground management during construction.
* Liaise with contractors, regulators, landholders, and stakeholders.
* Ensure all work is conducted in line with Queensland legislation, permit conditions, and best-practice environmental standards.
About You
You’ll be an adaptable, field‑ready practitioner who can operate confidently across both technical reporting and construction environments.
Essential Criteria
* Current Fauna Spotter Catcher licence/accreditation.
* Demonstrated environmental consulting or construction experience in Queensland.
* Strong working knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation, approvals pathways, and ecological field methods.
* Experience preparing technical reports and approvals documentation.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Current driver’s licence.
Highly Desirable
* Experience with Commonwealth approvals (EPBC Act) and Queensland approvals (e.g., Nature Conservation Act, Vegetation Management Act, Environmental Protection Act).
* Experience on major infrastructure, resources, or land development projects.
* Construction White Card or equivalent site safety training and First Aid Certificate.
