Casual Disability Support Workers - Experience with Autism Preferred
Indi Support Services is a small business supporting 5-50 year old clients in Orange, N.S.W. Our specialty is Autism, Anxiety and ADHD. We strongly advocate for and engage in neurodiverse‑affirming practices. We provide support to participants to access the community and engage in activities of daily living. We are a friendly, passionate team who offer detailed, practical professional development, flexible hours and ongoing support.
About YOU
We are currently seeking a reliable, relational and capable support worker. Experience preferred but not essential. Are you someone who cares about the wellbeing of other people? Are you someone who enjoys meaningful work that makes a difference?
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience within disability industry or with children preferable.
* Experience with Autism, Anxiety, ADHD and psychosocial disabilities preferable.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently, whilst enjoying a degree of responsibility in your position.
* Availability on weekends preferable.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
* Personal morals, values and attitudes that aim to support the dignity and independence of our clients.
* Be capable with technology.
* Proof of COVID‑19 Vaccination and Working With Children's Check, Current First Aid Certificate including CPR qualification and NDIS Workers Check.
* Have own comprehensively insured vehicle and full driver's licence.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Provide support to clients with a range of disabilities and mental health challenges.
* Support community outings; one‑on‑one client support and group outings.
* Provide assistance to clients with tasks associated with daily living, personal care, domestic assistance and medication administration.
* Collaborate and communicate with the team and families in order to best meet the needs of our clients.
* Perform duties in a manner that promotes the dignity, independence and acquisition of skills of clients.
* Engage in professional development and learning around disabilities.
