Water Treatment Plant Operator - Southern

About this role
We are looking for a Water Treatment Operator to join the Southern Water Treatment team and play a role in ensuring the continuous supply of safe, clean drinking water to our customers. Based in Seymour, you will work with the Corporation's Water Treatment Plants and facilities in Nagambie, Euroa, Seymour, Broadford and Kilmore, responsible for providing the community with safe and quality water. In this hands‑on role you will use modern technology and equipment to monitor and maintain water treatment systems, perform preventative and routine maintenance, operate and optimise treatment systems, and complete regular administrative tasks and respond to customer enquiries.
We develop and train our water industry operatives and will support you to achieve a nationally recognised water industry qualification.
About you
* Minimum Year 11 education or appropriate trade qualification.
* Understanding of or willingness to learn hydraulics and mechanical plant operations.
* Demonstrated commitment, ability and experience in resolving customer enquiries whilst providing a strong customer focus.
* Physically capable of performing operational and maintenance tasks.
* Ability to carry out mathematical calculations and interpret results.
* Knowledge of or willingness to learn standardised laboratory procedures and practices.
* Experience with or ability to learn computer‑based systems.
* Commitment to working as part of an on‑call roster for overtime and emergency work as required.
* Strong OHS commitment and focus.
* Committed to contributing positively to your team and the organisation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational, self‑management and problem‑solving skills.
* Adaptable, hands‑on, and enjoy working outdoors and in all elements.
