About the Role
Knox Private Hospital is seeking a motivated and diligent Health Information Services Officer to join our Medical Records team on a casual basis.
Responsibilities
1. Compiling and sorting medical records to be electronically tracked
2. Medical record retrieval
3. Internal and external phone and fax communication
4. Provision of health information to internal and external clients
5. Filing and culling of medical records
6. Day to day functionality of the Health Information Service Department
7. Participating in performance improvement activities
Essential Criteria
8. Proficient in use of email, web-based applications and Microsoft Word and Excel
9. Excellent communication and organisational skills
10. Basic knowledge of medical terminology (Desirable)
11. Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (1982) (Desirable)
12. Ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a small team environment
13. Ability to work within deadlines
14. Flexibility in responding to the changing needs of the business
15. Commitment to document security and patient privacy
16. Experience with the WebPAS patient information system (Desirable)
17. Previous experience in a healthcare setting or record keeping environment (Desirable)
18. Previous experience in Health Information Services (Desirable)
