Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Technical Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining management and sales of the Forbes branch and its efficient and effective operation.
The purpose of the role is to increase sales, particularly outside the branches. Power Tools Plus is a leader in the supply of steel, sheds, rural and industrial products to support a range of industries such as agriculture, agriculture support, mining, government and manufacturing in Central West NSW.
This role is critical in developing new customers and maintaining and growing existing customers. The role must work as part of a greater team, in alignment with Power Tools Plus values, to carry out the Power Tools Plus mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES + OBJECTIVES
BUSINESS LEADERSHIP
- Attend company meetings.
- Liaise with the Operations Manager to review targets and objectives.
- Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives, and other pertinent issues
- Interact with colleagues and customers and identify and resolve urgent issues.
- Complete required administrative procedures in a timely manner, including end of month processes.
- Maintain awareness of market trends in local industry and agriculture
- Track and manage sales levels to established targets.
SALES DEVELOPMENT
- Drive and manage the full sales process.
- Develop new customers and maintain strong existing consumer relationships.
- Regular visits to target farms and businesses.
- Provide technical advice, support and solutions to customers.
- Quote and negotiate pricing.
- Provide product demonstrations.
- Manage customer complaints and resolve any problems.
- Liaise with suppliers on price and availability
- Process customer orders efficiently
BRANCH INTERACTION
- Work closely with branch managers to ensure ongoing customer support.
- Use Power Tools Plus systems to ensure continuity of pricing and supply.
- Support branches in the transfer of stock to meet customer expectations.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing Manager to best pricing and supply of goods. As a senior member of the sales team, you may be required to provide support in the branches in the absence of regular staff.
- Maintain the shop in excellent condition and upholding high visual
- merchandising standards.
- Creating promotional displays and organizing merchandise to increase sales.
- Assisting in implementing special promotions, displays/events and marketing.
- Promoting the company locally by liaising with local organisations and the community in general.
OPERATIONS
- Coordinating Rep vehicle maintenance including:
- Scheduled services
- Washing
- Maintenance/tyres
- Care and maintain equipment provided to you including:
- Laptop
- Mobile phone
- The role may require time spent away from home to service more remote customers.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
This position will require the following:
- Tertiary qualifications within business, sales or marketing preferred.
- Sales and customer service experience from industrial, agricultural or technical field highly regarded
- Experience in a regional and agricultural environment.
- Great communication skills and down to earth/practical approach.
- Drive, ambition and the ability to work autonomously.
- Be a team player.
